Welcome to OC Habitat’s blog! If you aren’t already aware of our organization, here at OC Habitats we aim to promote the preservation and conservation of local habitats through restoration, monitoring, education, and outreach. The past few months have been unprecedented times for all of us, which has pushed us to create unique opportunities for us to connect with our community and continue our mission of habitat conservation.
The environment is complex and beautiful, consisting of many interconnected living and non-living factors that all work together to provide all organisms -- including us -- with the resources needed to thrive. As Baba Dioum, a Sengalese conservationist, once said, “In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught.” Through this blog, we hope to teach our readers, promote a sense of environmentalism, and add to our wonderful community of individuals passionate about conservation!
There is a lot of work to be done, but educating yourself is the first step. So let's get to work!
Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook or join our mailing list for updates on the blog and the rest of the work we are doing here at OC Habitats!
